Highlight of Trip to Ireland If you are a history buff, enjoy beautiful locations, or are just interested in unfathomable human achievements. This is the tour to do. Two friends and I did the Newgrange tour where we went to Newgrange, Knowth, and other hot historical locations such as Slane Castle, Hill of Tara, Battle of the Boyne Site, and even more. The cradle of Irish history from the neolithic time to the Irish/British discourse seen today can be linked to all of these sites.
On top of just visiting excellent spots, Michael just made it even better. Instead of being on a bus with 50 other people and having a time limit to see everything and return to the bus, we were able to see everything on our own time with Michael as our guide. He was very knowledgeable about everything we saw and wasn't afraid to correct the record on some "historical" facts that are usually presented. We were with Michael on our 3rd day in Ireland and were talking about how much fun that day was the rest of the trip.
He is the face of the Newgrange and Meath area so much so that if you google Newgrange he comes up before the official museum website. This just shows you how much he knows about the places and the effort he puts into the tours.
When I go back to Ireland I will definitely do another tour he offers. I also recommend him to anyone. The price is well worth it if you want to have a laid-back tour with a ton of historic value. Beats a bus tour any day.

Wonderfully rich tour with knowledgeable, warm and friendly professional. We spent a wonderful day with Michael touring the Boyne Valley. His passion for the area is obvious and we found it extremely informative and interesting. He is great at tailoring the tour to meet our needs, and went with the flow when we wanted to get some fish and chips for lunch . It was a very relaxing day as he thinks of everything and was always attuned to our needs for instance noticing when our coats and scarves were getting caught on brambles.
The thing that stood out, other than his deep knowledge and reverence for the area’s sacred sites, was his kindness. We had unexpectedly not been able to hire a car due to a license issue and he immediately offered to drive us the next day to our next destination as he had a free day. He really went above and beyond, and treated us as new friends rather than a transaction.
If you’re touring the Boyne Valley I would highly recommend Boyne Valley Tours you will be in excellent hands. Thank you again, Michael, for all the things, seen and unseen, you did to make this a day we will remember forever.

Great tour! Our day with Michael was memorable! His Boyne Valley Tour covered far more than we could have accomplished otherwise. Michael is very knowledgeable, easy to understand, and entertaining. He also offered solid insights and suggestions for our onward Ireland travel. He has a very nice and comfortable car. Michael is an all around great guide!

Incredible way to see all of Boyne We did a full tour of Boyne Valley with Michael over Halloween weekend 2022. He planned the day quite well, and we made it to all our sights - and then some! The guide was knowledgable and brought personal touches. Highlights included Slane Distillery, Dowth, Hill of Tara.

Boyne Valley - off the beaten path I arrived in Dublin 3 days before my main group tour of the entire country started. Toured Dublin on my own but wanted to specifically see sites around the Boyne Valley that were not going to be part of my main tour.
Contacted Michael by email and gave him a list of places I was interested to see - asking him to let me know what was possible in a day's time.
He was very prompt with communication and my personalized tour was set. He picked me up in my Dublin City Center hotel and dropped me at the hotel near the airport that was the starting point for my group tour.
Michael was born and raised in this area and thus has an intimate connection to the land and the special sites in the area - very knowledgeable and informative. Since he is so familiar with the area, he planned out the day to maximize the number of places I could visit. It was fun to see how many people he knew at the various places we visited. He even took me to his house where I met his wife, an amazing textile artist, and had the opportunity to walk their private labyrinth and have a cup of tea. He also had tickets to visit a site that is not normally open to the public which was a special treat.
My favorite sites were Fourknocks and Dowth. I had both of those places completely to myself.
By the end of the day, I was very tired but very happy!
